CIVIL CONSTRUCTION IN JOHANNESBURG
Marsden Road Construction Civils division manages and provides the necessary groundwork preparation for civil construction projects in and around Johannesburg as well as Gauteng and neighbouring provinces. These include commercial and industrial developments and road building projects.
We offer a wide range of services, ranging from demolition and site clearing to bulk excavation to levels and the installation of various ground drainage and water harvesting systems.
Our preferred Kaytrech sub-soil drainage products for pavement edge drains, under kerb drainage and across highway drainage include Geopipe and Megaflo subsoil drainage panels with Bidim filters,
We prefer to install Geopipe for under-road drainage situations because it has a 70% open area to increase the rate at which water infiltrates into the pipe. This drains water away from the base very efficiently. The piping is suitable for under-road use because it is unbreakable,light, flexible, easily cut and easy to handle. The product can be installed in conjunction with fin drains like Keytech’s Flo-drain or simply drain out into ROCLA concrete culverts.
Megaflo subsoil drainage panels are well suited to road building and road drainage purposes. They are also promoted as suitable for vertical drainage behind retaining walls and shotcrete as well as leachate collection drains and mine tailings.
Bidim is a needle punched geotextile for water filtration. It is usually used in conjunction with other Kaytech drainage systems such as Flo-drain, Megaflo, Dumple-drain and Zip-drain for
- sports field drainage,
- structural drainage,
- erosion control,
- soil separation and stabilization,
- railtrack base strengthening and drainage ,
- the reinforcement of soil slopes,
- landfill liner protection and
- road maintenance.
We are concerned about environmental issues and recommend the Rocla ecoRainPlus rainwater utilisation system for domestic and commercial rainwater run-off flows such as those experienced around Gauteng in summer.
MRC Civils manages every civils job to project specifications. Earth cut to spoil is driven away as a part of the total contract price. Sub-surface pavement layer works and appropriate sewage and stormwater services are installed as per the site engineer's instructions and in consultation with the product manufacturers.
MRC also paves parking areas and tars roads. We apply all appropriate road markings and erect standardised signage that we supply. Road drainage is best complemented by the installation of top quality kerbing installed by our specialist team.
We use various Kaytech geosynthetic products such as Multi-Cell on projects such as gravel roads, which we grade, compact and drain as per project specs.
